Business

General Themes: Students will learn about some basic business principles and then use them in a variety of activities and case studies. Through lectures, discussion sessions, group work, and analysis activities students will learn about the following: Monopolistic Competition / Business Environment Analysis / Marketing Student Project: Students will give a number of mini-presentation and at least one major presentation. The major presentation will be done in groups, and each group will present their individual case study.

Environment

In the environment class, students will be in a small group of 2 to 3 students.  Each group will give a presentation on a different theme related to the environment.  Presentations will be around 10 minutes long.  Some groups will give presentations about renewable energy sources.  Other groups will give presentations about environmental problems that they selected and researched.  These problems may be based on themes that were covered in the course.  In the course, students learned about the water cycle and water pollution, acid rain, and global warming and the greenhouse effect.  Students will get note-taking skills and may do some vocabulary building activities.
